The Western Australian Alliance to End Homelessness (WAAEH) is seeking someone to fill the position of Adult Lived Experience Steering Group Committee Member. This person will have lived experience with homelessness and/or housing insecurity, and the ability to use their voice in a way that also represents the broader community and their experiences.


The WAAEH serves as a centralised and organised group of committed organisations, government agencies and community partners who bring their collective resources and skills together to collaborate on ways to more quickly remove barriers to help house people faster. The WAAEH is based on a set of Visions and Principles that guide our commitment to ending homelessness in Western Australia by 2028.


This role is estimated to be 5 hours per month and is contracted for 2 years, falling under the Shelter WA Lived Experience Policy; Advisory Level and is paid at a rate of $77p/h. There is an expectation to attend a minimum 90% of meetings (available online) to fulfil the role requirements outlined in the contracted role.


The position is responsible to the Co-Chairs of the Steering Group and Executive Officer, and includes the following duties:


● Providing oversight, guidance and helping steer the WAAEH

● Overseeing the delivery of the strategic direction of the WAAEH based on the agreed Vision, Strategic & Operational plans and budget

● Approve the budget that aligns with funding agreements and deliverables to be further approved by Shelter WA

● Overseeing WAAEH Initiatives within the scope of budget

● Monitoring any contract performance of the WAAEH and ensuring that it is reported to the Shelter WA board
